Alan has only been performing stand-up comedy for around a year, although he has a background in the performing arts as an actor and director in live theatre as well as performing sketch comedy to around 17,000 people over three performances at the Point Depot in Dublin in 2003. He is also a published author of true crime and history books.
Alan has come a long way in a short time on the stand-up scene, and is now a regular performer at many venues on the Scottish circuit. He has also performed all over the country in locations such as London, Birmingham, Newcastle and Manchester, where he will shortly be gracing the stage of the legendary Comedy Store. In 2008 he was a semi-finalist in the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition, and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of the Absolute Best of Absolute Beginners show. He will be returning to the Fringe this year in a new show.
