I began doing stand-up because I enjoy the writing. That's what excites me. I hold no allusions about my stage presence. I suspect my jokes will always be funnier in my mind than they will in performance. Frankly, I don't care. I enjoy doing it and hope to continue for a long time. That said, I would like to pay homage to a man who was as funny on paper as he was on stage. George Carlin had it all; he was the whole package.
